Verify your identity

At Balozy, we constantly do our best to keep our community safe for everyone. This is why we routinely ask service providers to verify their identity with an official government Identity Document (ID) and phone number through (SMS) OTP process.

How we use your data

The collection and processing of National ID cards are required to ensure a trustworthy, transparency community and marketplace, to enforce our terms of service, and in order to comply with applicable laws.

We assure you that the identification card won’t be used for any other purpose—including marketing purposes—nor shared with other users or third parties.

The copy of your identification card is only kept for as long as required—and for the required purpose explained above.

Balozy pros verification process

Step1. Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Take a real-time selfie. (a clear photo that shows your face). Please note: Photos must be taken in a well-lit space, are clear and sharp, and aren’t cut off in any way— this increases the chances of the photos being approved.
Be able to work in one of our active cities. You can see a full list of cities here.
Consent to an ID check. This helps keep our platform safe for all users.
We will require background checks from the DCI (Certificate of Good Contact) from pros. Profiles will be heavily vetted. Honesty and transparency are our focus. We’re a company built on integrity and safety for all.
Have a smartphone and a valid phone number. You’ll be managing your tasks through our Balozy app, which is compatible with iOS or Android.

Step 2. Load your documents

Upload your valid National Identity card with a valid phone number. Your legal name should match your national ID identification on your profile. Balozy will validate this requirement.

All service providers (Balozypros) phone numbers are verified by an SMS/Email OTP integrated into the app system.
Service providers can start work once these requirements are verified and met.

Step 3. Results

It takes 2-5 business days to get back the results of the screening.

Once the screening has been completed, the Balozy Pro (worker) shall receive a text message that they have either passed or failed the screening test.

For the workers who have passed screening, their Balozy Pros profile in the app will become active right away.

The Balozy Pro can now start receiving requests for jobs from clients/customers.

If the Pro fails the screening, Balozy unfortunately will not be able to partner with the service professional (pro).

FAQs

1. When do I need to verify my ID?

You must verify your ID as soon as you receive a notification on your account. You will have 14 days to complete the process. Failing to do so will remove your ability to list your services on Balozy.

ID verification helps keep Balozy safe and honest. You may be asked to complete ID verification before joining one of our premium programs, if there are concerns about the safety of your account, or when required by regulations.

2. Do I have to verify my identity if I was requested by Balozy to do so?

Yes. Balozy may require some of our customers to go through a verification process. Balozy does not require account verification when opening an account.

3. What if I don’t have an ID?

If you’re a service provider, you must verify your identity with a valid ID. This includes a driver’s license, passport, or other valid ID

4. Is my information secure?

We take great care in maintaining the security of the site and your information, to prevent unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, destruction, or damage to it through industry-standard technologies and internal procedures.
